Speak Up and SAVE 2020

February 8, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm | $125.00

Please join us for our second annual Speak Up and SAVE event at Venue West, 221 N Paulina St, Chicago in honor of Michael Brent Higley. Suicide was a once whispered about death, an act “committed” by someone, as if they had full power to prevent their own demise. When a person is affected by extreme depression, he or she is not able to make a rational decision to speak up. Our mission originates from personal pain, but we believe everyone can do more to treat depression as the disease it is and give those affected more channels to seek help.  Join us in a night full of dancing, silent auction, and most importantly awareness!  All proceeds benefit SAVE and our mission to bring awareness and reduce stigma. Having the right resources can truly save an individual’s life, so let it be you who speaks up and Saves!

SAVE Events take place in communities like yours across the country, with the proceeds benefiting Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE). By participating in one of SAVE’s events you will be raising money for many educational programs to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma and serve as a resource for those touched by suicide.

Depression is a treatable medical illness marked by changes in mood, thoughts, energy and behavior that affects more than 23 million adult Americans each year. It is the most common serious brain disease in the United States.
