This event is a tribute to those we have lost to suicide that allows suicide loss survivors to gather, share their personal journeys and support one another.
SAVE is honored to bring this event back for the first time since 2019!
About the event
Doors open at 8:30 am. Program starts at 9 am.
The Suicide Awareness Memorial is a compassionate gathering designed to provide support, healing and remembrance for those who have lost loved ones to suicide. The primary purpose is to create a safe space where survivors can come together to share their experiences, find solace and commemorate the lives of those they have lost.
- Loss Survivor Program:
- Welcoming remarks and introduction about the event’s purpose
- Music performance
- Suicide loss survivors panel – Personal stories of loss and how they find hope
- Name-reading ceremony
- Moment of remembrance
- Memorial Photo Display:
- A designated space where attendees can view photos of loved ones
- Resource Fair:
- Information booths featuring local mental health organizations, support groups and resources for suicide loss survivors
- Handouts and materials on coping strategies, grief counseling and mental health awareness
- Light Refreshments
- Donuts, pastries, fruit and coffee
Photo submission for 2024’s event is closed online, but attendees may bring physical photocopies of loved ones lost to suicide for the photo display. To submit a photo of someone you have lost to suicide in advance of 2025’s event, please submit this form. Email mfondell@save.org with any questions. RSVP here.
