Annual Suicide Awareness Memorial
SAVE's Annual Suicide Awareness Memorial Event is a tribute for survivors of suicide loss to celebrate the lives of loved ones.
The Event
SAVE conducted the first national Memorial for suicide survivors in 1989 at the State Capitol in St. Paul, Minnesota. Today, the Suicide Awareness Memorial is the longest continually running suicide memorial in the United States. Every Spring the Memorial takes place in the Twin Cities for 200-300 people who gather from around the country for support, encouragement, and hope. The Memorial includes stories of hope and survival, a Reading of the Names, Faces of Suicide, Wall of Photos, a Keynote or Panel address, music, food and resources. If you are interested in learning more about the Annual Memorial, please contact the SAVE office.
