Community and Workplace Suicide Prevention Training

SAVE was recently awarded a grant from the State to provide FREE evidence-based suicide prevention and postvention awareness training sessions throughout the 7 county metro area. We are offering SafeTALK (3 hours) and QPR (1 hour) trainings. The goal of the program is to increase the knowledge of warning signs of suicide and how to connect individuals with assistance and locally-available care to decrease suicides. Contact Linda Mars at lmars@save.org or 952-946-7998 for more information on this training opportunity.

Media Training for Professionals and Students

We rely on mass media for news about what is important and what we should be aware of in our communities. SAVE was awarded a grant from the State to provide a brief (one hour) training on best practices and recommendations for safe reporting of suicide. This free training can be provided to professionals of any media outlet or presented in the classroom for journalism students. Contact Francene Rolstad at 952-946-7998 to schedule or find out more information on this training opportunity.
